   After School Program

After School is available to children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade (Ages 5-12).  Monday through Friday 2:45PM to 6PM while Ashland Schools are in session.  Currently, Hager, Poage, Charles Russell, and Oakview are the only schools that shuttle kids to the YMCA.  You can contact your school board to find out if your school can too.

The cost is $7 per child per day for Y Members and $12 per child per day for Non-Members.

We strive to provide a safe fun-filled, positive place for your child to come to each evening after school.  Each day your child will be provided with a snack and drink as well as a chance to relax and watch some TV after a long day at school.  On Mondays, homework help will come next.  If your child does not have homework, reading a book will be encouraged.  During this time there will be no TV or playing games so that the kids have a chance to concentrate and get some work out of the way.  Throughout the year we will do some art projects and various other activities throughout the building.  Otherwise, it will be free play or group games to wrap up each evening.  You can always find a sign on the door letting you know where we are at pick-up time.  Overall, we want to provide your child with a fun-filled, learning rich environment for them to grow and thrive.

After School is a pay-as-you-go program; however, tickets are only good for current school year and will not be refunded, transferred or credited back to you if you do not use them by end of school year.  Before your child can begin After School there are a few steps we need you to complete. We need a registration packet filled out in full and a current copy of the child’s immunization record with the Commonwealth of Kentucky Seal on it. You can find the registration packet at our Front Desk.

Please have your ticket ready each evening when you come to pick up your child.  Balances will not be tolerated.  If you do not provide a ticket each day your child will not be able to attend this or any YMCA programs until paid in full.   Make sure you sign your child out and gather all of their belongings.  The Y is not responsible for lost, stolen or broken items.  Comfortable clothing and tennis shoes are preferred as we will be playing hard!  The After School Program ends at 6PM.  You will be charged $2 for each child for each minute you are late past 6PM.  If you do not pick up your child by 7PM authorities will be contacted.
